Your smile says a lot about you – studies have proven that your smile can say as much about your habits and health as a quick check up can.
As telling as our smiles are, there are a few dental myths we’ve been told over the years that aren’t so transparent – or even true for that matter.
We’ve collected 2 major dental myths, so that you can be more accurately advised when taking care of your teeth.
Bleaching DOES NOT Weaken Your Enamel
We all could use a little help when it come to whitening our teeth, and many people turn to over the counter whitening strips or trays from their dentists. Like many things, when following directions, teeth whiteners are harmless.
Bad Breath DOES NOT Mean Your Mouth is Dirty
Sure – if you eat a garlic-filled dish your breath might stink. Same is true if you eat pickles or other pungent foods. Typically, bad breath is a sign of an adventurous eater, not a bad brusher. Smelly breath can be caused by a slew of culprits, but rarely is lack of brushing the issue.
