What Kind Of Toothbrush Do I Need?

When in need of a new toothbrush, we know the options can be overwhelming. It seems like every oral care brand has about 50 different types in 50 different colors – all promising to make your teeth cleaner than the next. So what does a oral care professional recommended?

Motor Powered Toothbrush

Many dentists recommend a battery operated toothbrush with a small head of bristles, to ensure you are able to clean and polish every corner and crevice of your moth. The motor assists in this, and the small head allows the brush to be in small places like the back of your mouth, which tends to be brushed past. Motor powered toothbrushes also removed a huge amount more of plaque than average toothbrushes do, providing a deeper clean for your teeth and mouth than a hand operated brush could do.

Regular Toothbrush

If that type of brush isn’t something you feel like investing in, dentists suggest finding a toothbrush shape that fits your mouth well and allows you to brush all teeth easily – so long as it has soft bristles. The harsh bristles of some older ones can scrape away at your enamel over time, creating microscopic trenches that eventually wear away your enamel.
